This morning the social media giant, Twitter, was down for almost 2 hours in the United Kingdom, some parts of Europe and even Japan. This was due to technical problems.
Twitter was on the case though and posted a tweet saying: "Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution."
Twitter was then furiously mocked for hours after for providing updates about the outage for users by sending a tweet that few people could read due to limited access. The hashtag #Twitterdown is still trending with up to 138K tweets.
While the problem seems to have been widespread, some of the site's 300 million users were unaffected, with others reporting intermittent access on mobile devices.
